Las Negras

Las Negras
7/7/13
We drove through some pretty daunting looking country to get to this cute little fishing village on the south east corner of Spain. The camping ground us huge and inhabited by mostly Spanish holiday makers. Not much English is spoken, so our meagre Spanish will have to suffice and we are improving fast. Trish and Paul leave this morning, so it will be a sad day. The Woottons were going to be heading west towards portugal today, but tony found out about a festival in town which we will stay for. Some reggae from Africa, flamenco etc....I think will be worth staying another day for. It is a bit like Maleny in town...a bit alternative, relaxed and certainly not 'discovered' by the tourist industry...not from overseas anyway. there are a few Spanish families on holidays, and Daphne detected some german. No English speakers to be found...all no bras and lots of music, so I am quite in my element, much to the chagrin of my teenage companions. There were a few conniptions when I got topless on the beach...Angus will never recover.
I love the way the women let their boobs swing here...braless is best and when it's socially acceptable, well, great!
The town is right on the beach of course, where there are little bars and restaurants dotted around. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. The dry rocky hills that surround us are like a moonscape, and the light is sharp and crisp. I can see why film makers love the place. The sun sets at around 9.30-10, and rises at around 6.30-7. It's a long day, and the place goes to sleep between 2&5 pm, which suits us just fine. A 'guilt free nap' as Daphne says.
